Digital Photography Students have been working on making portraits in the style of Andy Warhol's "Marilyn Monroe". We began by looking at examples of Pop Art and finding information through a Scholastic Art reading. We then worked on manipulating the images through Photoshop. A new skill the students learned through this project was adjusting the threshold of an image to make it a high contrast black and white image.
After this step, students worked on painting color behind the image. They were encouraged to keep the brush hardness at 100% so that the edges were clear. They were also asked to focus on using the different areas of color to separate portions of the image.
