Art Survey | Georgia O'keeffe Close Up Paintings

Art Survey students have been working on an acrylic painting. Their painting is a close up of a selected area within an image they picked. They mapped out their drawings using the grid system before beginning to paint. They also completed a series of practices to mix colors to match specific values. 

Drawing A | Shoe Drawings

The Drawing Students have completed their Shoe Drawings. These drawings are surrounded by objects that represent the student. Many have objects that reference their hobbies, places they have traveled or would like to go to, places they work, and sports teams they enjoy watching. 

Digital Art | Seamless Scene / Color Adjustments

Below are some finished examples of our project that required students to find a black and white image that they could change the color of the white areas on, an image of a tree that they have adjusted the color of, a landscape, and a flying object. Students combining these 4 images in a way that made them appear "Seamless" other than the fact that the colors were not realistic.

Art Survey | Acrylic Painting Practice

To prepare for our acrylic painting project, 8th graders have been practicing mixing paint to achieve different colors as well as ways to light and darken them. 

Digital Art | Color Adjustment Scene

For our 3rd Project, the Digital Art students are combining 4 images. One must be a bright landscape, the 2nd is an object that is black and white (preferably with white stripes or something with distinct separation between the black and white areas), the third is a flying object, and the fourth is an image of a tree. Adjustments that all students will make include changing the white areas within their black and white object. Using a color adjustment layer on the leaves within their tree as well as adding shadows to keep the image looking 3-dimensional.  

Drawing A | Shoe Drawings

Drawing students have been working on adding value and color to their "Shoe Drawing". Each drawing should focus on a type of shoe as well as objects or other references about who the student is, what they like to do, places they've been, or who they are hoping to become.  

 

 

Digital Art | 2D to 3D & Zen Designs

Digital Art students have been working on some simple projects. 1 of these was taking a two-dimensional object and making it three-dimensional. Below are a couple of examples of this. 

Students are also completing "Zen Coloring Page" Designs. They are finding these online and filling the spaces using various techniques of applying color using Photoshop.
