Mixed Media | Radial Prints

Students designed their tiles within 1/2 of their 3 x 3 inch square using Adobe Illustrator. Next they reflected it over the line to create a symmetrical design.

Students had the option to copy & paste their tile to get a better idea of what their design will look like when we use the ink to create radial prints (by stamping their tile 4 times).

Students then shaded the back of their paper using a pencil, taped it to their linoleum block, and traced over the lines to transfer the designs. After passing our safety quiz students were able to begin carving out their designs.

Below are examples from our first day of printing. Students used black ink on white paper to practice creating radial designs. The photographs below include the linoleum blocks used to print each page.
