Digital Art | Creating Shadows Using Reflections

After completing their first project, Digital Art students are learning more skills to help make their images more realistic. This week we have been working on creating shadows that match the shape of the subject matter that students cut out. We duplicated the image, flipped it and stretched it to look like a shadow, painted it black, and then adjusted the opacity and blurred the shadow. When using this skill in projects, students will analyze shadows of the objects already present in the background image and create shadows to match those on the images they add into the scene.
